If you chose Version A, you are correct!

Version A, with a 100% probability of outperforming Version B, received a 284.89% increase in conversion. Since the image was the only change that was made, these results indicate to us that it was at the root of the major conversion rate boost.

So why did Version A increase conversions so dramatically? Here are a few of my speculations:

  • The Quizopolis image provided more clarity for the customer, making the LeadBox™ easier to understand.
  • The branded image also provided continuity between the LeadBox™ and the original page.

Imagery can sometimes impact conversions in a major way. In this test, that was certainly the case.

  • Wow, this kind of surprised me. I was a bit confused with the button label TBH. I thought I am signing up for a newsletter so “Unlock Name Generator” didn’t make sense. For that reason, I chose B since it reiterates that this is a newsletter signup box 😉

    • That’s a good point, Jason! More context around the name generator would be helpful. My hypothesis is that visitors probably clicked on something offering them a free name generator tool when they sign up for the Quizopolis email list before being prompted with this LeadBox. That’s why the only mention of the name generator on the LeadBox is on the button.
