  • Hey Tim and James – this was a fantastic case study! I’ve been running FB ads for my Discover LeadPages marketing challenge, so this episode is especially timely. I wonder (I know how you love speculation) if the better performing ad converted higher because it had a longer link, so it looked more like shared content instead of a root domain/biz promo; or if the end of the slug being “proven-video-formula” specifically hit home better than 48hrfilmschool.net. It’s in the weeds, but I’d love to see split testing on CamelHumping the domain since it’s otherwise hard to read. Also, jameswedmore.leadpages.net/proven-video-formula has both James’ name (which matches the sponsor of the post), and the benefit, instead of a “thing” like 48 hour film school. What do you think?

    • Hey Bob! I really enjoyed this one. You bring up super interesting points — I also wonder if people are savvy enough to know that Facebook ads aren’t necessarily just “shared” content anymore, but chances are that most people don’t know (or don’t care). Since you’ve been running some FB ads, I’d love to see results from your split tests of different domain styles 😉 Maybe you could share them on our show?
